This past week, the Glens Falls Senior Center celebrated its 60th anniversary! We recently had the opportunity to help the center restore their historic building back to its original grandeur. The team at Atherton Painting assisted with various renovations including repainting and repairing decorative woodwork on the building built back in 1844.
“We worked on everything that needed to be repaired to bring it back to its’ original state,” says James Atherton.
The renovation company repaired and restored various sections of the center. Work included restoration of the pillars, railings, fascias, spindles, reglazing and building new windows, exterior painting services, etc.” The project could not have been completed without the amazing partnership with Brian Mathis from Advanced Building and Development.
When asked about how he felt about the completion of this project, James Atherton, Owner of Atherton Painting Co. stated, “ I’m very happy with this project. It opened my eyes to this whole historic restoration industry. We really enjoyed working with the client – they were very appreciative as were the people who go there daily. It was a great experience.”
